Housed in the former Mission San José Fire Station, part of one of the oldest Spanish missions in California, Fremont's Museum of Local History offers a comprehensive array of exhibits showcasing Washington Township's past. Exhibits include Ice Age fossils found nearby, a look at the area's intriguing film making history, the history of the area's education system as well as an exhibit on the local livery stable. The museum is located in Fremont's Mission San Jose District, just a short walk from the Mission San Jose & Museum.
